About 18 months ago Hubby bought a scooter through a Mobilty outlet cost him £1500 approx . He used it about once a week for a short time locally as although it came apart some parts were too heavy for me to pick up safely to put into the car boot so he could use it when we went out

Over time hubby has become too unstable on his feet to go out on his own so the scooter sat covered and locked in the back garden

We finally managed to get enough room to get it in the back of the garage where it sits doing nought . a BIG WASTE OF MONEY

Was doing my shopping a few weeks ago and saw some folks unloading a scooter from their car that looked very easy to handle so asked for info and we had a big chat about it . Told hubby when he came home from his day centre that day and we said maybe we should look into it again

Well two weeks ago i had to get a prescription done early evening so popped into the Lloyds pharmacy at one of the local shopping precincts and was surprised to see they have a mobility section with quite a few scooters etc including the model of the one I talked with the folks about .

Hubby and I talked about it and he was keen so today we went to take a look . Got one too .the lightest one they do and I can handle all the parts to pick up.

Silly price too !!!!! £349 wish we had known about them earlier and saved OH at least a grand .

I had googled too and done a BIG search on scooters available in the area before we went to the mobilty shop and Lloyds didnt come up

need to try and sell the other one too now as he doesnt need both

Shirley, if you google, there are loads of places where you can sell mobility scooters. We are facing a similar problem with an electric recliner we have. We just need to find a suitable replacement before selling it or my husband will end up sitting on the floor.... :-D

Here's one for starters

Thanks Cynthia

Lloyd s said to make sure the battery is fully charged all the time to keep it saleable

We would sell it for a silly price just to get rid of it
