PatinCyprus Report 14 Mar 2015 07:50

Just read about the destruction that Pam has caused in Vanuatu and they haven't got to the more remote parts yet to see what's happened there. Terrible plight they are in. New Zealand and Australia talking about emergency teams and UN looking to see what they can do. Save The Children also involved. Reports say at least 44 dead. Hope it doesn't rise.

Hope all GR contributors who are in that part of the world are safe and well.

The poor souls in the Pacific Islands are really getting battered.

Terrifying for them.

From a selfish perspective, we are fine, Scozz. It was nice to hear the rain.

Even though the cyclone has now weakened to a rain- bearing depression and is tracking in a south easterly direction, severe flooding is expected in the Pilbara and Gascoyne areas due to swollen rivers.

Allan ~ I've been watching the radar.

Are you OK? Keep safe!

We have a very dark grey sky & it's getting windy...... I'm about to move things on our deck, just in case.

See my thread about the spider :-)

DH has just left for golf........... yeah right........I expect him back soon. Silly man.

Hooray! Not for the cyclones, obviously, but down here in my immediate area of the south west of Western Aus (Bunbury) we are copping the tail end of Cyclone Olwyn

We have received our first significant rainfall since December. The rain started at about 1100pm last night and continues until about 3.00am.

No wind so far but further windy squalls and rain expected throughout today.

The North West was battered

Huia, I knew CT Pam was threatening Samoa, but didn't know it was heading to NZ.

Keep safe <3

We've had heavy rain this evening, but we're a long way from Cooktown, which (according to the news this afternoon) was isolated, because of heavy rain.

I have cousins in NZ, many in Auckland and KerriKerri, hope they are safe.

CT Pam is currently in the area north of NZ and heading our way, hopefully will go to the east of us, but the Gisborne area could get some of it.

:-0

Queenslanders are going to get hammered again, by CT Nathan, and north-west WA is getting battered by CT Olwyn.

We'll probably get heavy rain, but that's nothing, compared to what others can expect.

I'll be glad when summer, and the cyclone season, is over.
