well.................... thats a very long story!

Think I was last on here about 2 years ago after checking my membership!

Passed my midwifery degree in Sept 2012, had a major, near fatal RTC in July 2013 so was out of work for 18 weeks. Back to work Dec 2013, then 1st grandchild in Jan 2014 (my last baby was announced on here in March 2005). Started work back in Kent in June 2014 and have been here since..... I commute back and forth from Ireland! Next grandchild is due beginning of July this year!................ BREATHE!

How are you Maggie! Youve been here a bit too!

Well done on your degree, Theresa!!
I had my 4th grandchild last month, (so much nicer having others delivering the new generation. I now have two of each.
Baby is the first for younger daughter who had 3/4 miscarriages before her arrival, so she's overly loved, but very chilled :-D
Elder daughter spent a couple of years on the maternity ward, both helping to deliver and breast feeding counselling - she's now in the community, still encouraging breast feeding, but also providing hearing tests etc. :-D
She's amazing - one mother who had a cesarean desperately wanted to breastfeed, but it was painful holding the baby 'normally' - so daughter had the baby feed over her shoulder!!! :-D :-D
I'm afraid she will do anything to encourage mothers to use this free, readily available, always at the right temperature means of feeding their babies :-D :-D :-D :-D

Dermot Report 16 Mar 2015 08:27

There's a tear in your eye,
And I'm wondering why,
For it never should be there at all.
With such pow'r in your smile,
Sure a stone you'd beguile,
So there's never a teardrop should fall.
When your sweet lilting laughter's
Like some fairy song,
And your eyes twinkle bright as can be;
You should laugh all the while
And all other times smile,
And now, smile a smile for me.

When Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, 'tis like the morn in Spring.
In the lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing.
When Irish hearts are happy,
All the world seems bright and gay.
And when Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, they steal your heart away.

For your smile is a part
Of the love in your heart,
And it makes even sunshine more bright.
Like the linnet's sweet song,
Crooning all the day long,
Comes your laughter and light.
For the springtime of life
Is the sweetest of all
There is ne'er a real care or regret;
And while springtime is ours
Throughout all of youth's hours,
Let us smile each chance we get.

When Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, 'tis like the morn in Spring.
In the lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing.
When Irish hearts are happy,
All the world seems bright and gay.
And when Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, they steal your heart away.
