It's bright and sunny and so far cloud free here in South West Wales

I have made a viewing box quickly this morning

http://www.theguardian.com/science/2015/mar/19/solar-eclipse-what-you-need-to-know

AND IT WORKS

They don't say however, to make sure you don't accidentally look at the silver foil while you are trying to line it all up with the sun! :-| :-| :-| :-|

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Just to see the lights..........
If it gets dark enough.
Far too cloudy to see even a smidgen of sun :-( :-(

GlasgowLass

GlasgowLass Report 20 Mar 2015 09:02

Thick cloud here too but I've just been out in the car.
Every few minutes the cloud clears and the partial eclipse can be cleary seen through the tinted visor ( not with naked eye)

It looks like a jaffa cake with a bite out
As the cloud moves on the reflection of the whole moon can be seen quite clearly.

It gives me the heebie jeebies !

Disappointing. We even unearthed (and checked!) the glasses from 1999 :-0 :-|

Err... Why look at the traffic??

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 20 Mar 2015 08:13

Thick cloud here too, but I presume the skies will darken.
When they do, I'm going to watch the traffic from the bridge over the motorway :-)
