wonderful news - this five year old boy, who was taken abroad by his parents to have cancer treatment - is now declared free of cancer

That is indeed wonderful news Ann.

All credit to the boys parents who were determined to get him to a clinic that could help him.
Despite our illustrious Home Secretary issuing an International Arrest Warrant, causing them to be arrested, and parted from the boy for a few days, until common sense prevailed.

All because they had the temerity to remove him from a hospital here, to seek better treatment abroad.

Good luck to them all - especially the boy :-)

Tec :-)

Put the Home Secretary out to grass at the coming election.

Apparently, Proton Beam Radiotherapy that this boy was treated with, is expected to be available here within the next five years, when it is expected the costs involved will be considerably less.

150 children have been sent to America for this treatment, at the expense of the NHS, when it was considered appropriate, and beneficial.

I assume that Ashya's parents were not offered this option.

Tec :-)
