I had chickenpox as an adult (caught it off my nephew ) I have never felt so ill ,before or after ..... if there is a vaccine , I think it should be given to children ,so they don't get it in adulthood. iris :-)

The NHS argue that childhood vaccination against chickenpox ( available if you ask ) is not policy because it would leave a small pool of unvaccinated adults who could catch more serious diseases as an adult eg shingles.

Hum. The trouble with that line of reasoning is that it leaves people who have had childhood chickenpox susceptible to Bell' s Palsy. This is a very unpleasant condition which freezes face muscles including control of the eye(s) which cannot shut or blink.

The best option is vaccination.

Poor pet. My 18mth old twin grandaughters have just got over this. I went to our local chemist for something to put on them to sooth the spots and was sold a wonderful gel just for chickenpox. Its was very expensive at £8.35 a smallish tube but i thought if it helps its worth it. As you can imagine with 2 of them it didnt last long. Son went to T##cos and found the same product for £2. needless to say i was gobsmacked and not a little bit fuming. Hope the little one dosnt suffer too much. xx

Poor little lass.
Not a nice thing to have on your birthday, - or any other time come to that, especially as it's hard to tell such a little girl that she shouldn't scratch the spots.

If she has got it, I hope it's just a mild case and she is soon well.
Careful she doesn't pass on the infection.........
