Then that's reason enough if it gives comfort
and a smile for those who were very close. <3

I don't think people would have a problem if Gr just un Pinned it, what people are disgusted at is people asking for them unpinned like they have decided we have had long enough to grieve,

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 24 Mar 2015 20:56

Emma GR have left it because
its the most read thread on the boards

some of us read at least part of it everyday <3 <3

StrayKitten

StrayKitten Report 24 Mar 2015 20:55

The fact people are asking for it too be taken down,

Shirley asked for peoples opinions well she's got them

'Emma'

'Emma' Report 24 Mar 2015 20:54

I may be wrong but I thought that after
a respectable amount of time GR unpinned them.

StrayKitten

StrayKitten Report 24 Mar 2015 20:43

I feel the same as Hayley if GR just un pinned it fare play, but to ASK for it unpinned, disgusting!!!

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 24 Mar 2015 20:36

BCs dying wish was for her stick to be at the top of the board
and rightly so where it belongs
she was the most loved and respected member of GR
It makes me smile just writing her name :-D :-D

But No you lot begrudge this lovely lovely lady her moment of glory

How would you feel if it was your thread :-( :-( :-(

I think it's about time they were removed. Leave Dutch's for a few weeks and then remove. These people will never be forgotten by the people who knew and loved them.

StrayKitten

StrayKitten Report 24 Mar 2015 19:55

Well I find this thread bad taste,

Gr remove the stickies when they see fit like they always have done, and like we come to expect,

but for people to mail them n ask for them unstickied to me seems a bit disrespectful, :-(

In that case, may be the only solution is for the Opening Poster to ask?

The boards have been so quiet of late, that its not surprising that 'new' people are looking.

Joy Report 24 Mar 2015 18:50

I suggested this a couple of days ago, but GR support stated the bereavement threads would stay because they could see people were still viewing them.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 24 Mar 2015 17:15

Strange I was only thinking the same thing a couple of days ago. we all miss BC and many of us miss Berona and Stella but we will go on missing them no matter how long they are stickied.

And please leave Dutch's up for a while.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 24 Mar 2015 16:52

sounds very reasonable

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 24 Mar 2015 16:50

I've emailed support.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 24 Mar 2015 16:41

Agreed. I had asked GR a month ago, but the request was rejected at that time.

As others have said, with the exception of Dutch's which (in my opinion) should remain pinned for a bit longer, those who wish to add posts will already have the thread in their 'my threads' list.

To my mind, it would be good if GR would automatically put a time limit on pinned obituary threads, say 4-6 weeks.

Guinevere, I'm sure GR would unpin it if you asked them.

Mayfield

Mayfield Report 24 Mar 2015 16:36

I would go along with that, I'm sure that those who knew them will have seen the posts by now.

Maybe there is a case for Genes to have a facility for finding out why members do not reply to posts, either because they have left, or in the sad cases like this that they are no longer with us.

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 24 Mar 2015 16:18

I wish you would. I feel uncomfortable that the one I started has been stickied (I didn't ask for it to be)

I'd feel a bit awkward just deleting it but I wish it was unstickied.

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 24 Mar 2015 15:49

I agree wholeheartedly, particularly when they have not been added to for some considerable time (three months in the case of one!).

Shirley - I was considering making a similar request and so back you up totally.

No disrespect to any of our deceased members or their families but we do currently have four such threads at the top of the board which should be allowed over time to slowly move down the board although people's thoughts and memories will of course never fade.
