well Jonathon Ross is back with the BBC - albeit on Radio - what he and that other idiot did was unforgiveable

Well I think the BBC have done the right thing I just wonder why it took them so long to decide and I am pleased the police are looking into it this bulling must stop.

I don't even like him myself
and never watch top gear

I am looking at it from the money point of view
the money we pay for our TV licences that is often wasted by the BBC

But Clarkson is bringing money back into the pot

About two thirds is spent on television.
Something like a fifth or slightly more on radio.
Then other bits and pieces including web content.

Without television licences where would you get your "lovely" Call The Midwife etc etc?

(falls of the chair laughing) :-D :-D

So here today is what the BBC think passes for peak time TV ...

Episode 1
The Ladykillers: Pest Detectives Episode 1 of 4

Series following four female pest controllers as they do battle with Britain's most common household pests. Infestations of bed bugs, rats, clothes moths and more are making life a misery in homes across the UK. The ladykillers use specialist cameras to provide a scary close-up of the pests for the homeowners and to help find the best way to get rid of these unwelcome intruders.

I thought this sort of thing was for daytime telly (Sheriffs, Fake Britain etc).
Maybe without the license money they might actually do something interesting.

One short series of "Wolf Hall" does not make up for the never ending dross and repeats. People are noticing that the only quality programming is imported who dunnits for polyglots and lovers of Italian style.

Clarkson was popular because he and his team were funny the program was not really about cars at all. What else is on that is funny ? Pick the bones out of this and see if there is anything funny (not repeats).

Yes, I know there is ITV and a raft of stuff doing repeats such on Dave, 5, alibi and so on. I am talking new free2air UK. ITV does not currently offer much.

Budgie Rustler Report 29 Mar 2015 17:24

Alleged death threats made against BBC director general Tony Hall are being investigated by the Met Police.
Lord Hall is reported to have received a threatening email after dropping presenter Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear because he had punched a producer.

This is so sick... No need to do that, just go and Punch him in the face.
Apparently you dont get charged with assault that way.

T Hall is one of the most boring and dull people on the planet he would not say boo to a goose which is why he got the job.

Anybody who wants to start a case against him is utterly unhinged and terribly misinformed.

Why are loony announcements in twitter and facebook taken seriously all the time by plods and journos? When there really is serious fraud etc they don't want to know.

I think today the D.M. wanted to shift attention away from the fact that their man is not doing well according to YouGov. It appears that Milliband may be a real person ( as politicians go ) whereas the Tories probably bought BraveDave as part of a producer job lot after the filming of I,Robot.

fwiw the only person at the BBC who wanted to sack Clarkson was Danny Cohen and he has been telling that to anybody who would listen for at least three years.

I suppose Clarkson could star in Cohen's next series of "Banished". There were rumours yesterday he had an offer from Australia. Certainly Clarkson sledging v. thin skinned Ozzies could be good tv.
