Great site Mr Magoo.

The photo I looked at was dated 1946 but I know the area well .
I looked for a town landmark ( hospital) and pinpointed a particular line of old trees

My house is just 12yrs old but, I live at the end of a "dead end" street and it's the same line of old trees that form the dead end .

I couldn't find the town I grew up in (it's bigger than a village!), but I found the hospital where I was born :-D I couldn't find the next town either, but found pics of a sewage works :-(

Wondering if GlasgowLass lives anywhere near the site of the old Bellshill maternity hospital.

About 11 miles out in EK ( Hairmyres Hospital) LadyScozz.

My mum had home births but, the youngest (premature) was born and died at Bellshill in 1962.
My own children were born at Rutherglen Maternity but it's long gone now too.
The nearest/only Maternity Unit in South/North Lanarkshire is at... Wishaw!

Thanks for the link Mr-Magoo :-)

I have added a couple of 'pins' ..... one is to the block of flats where I was born sometime after the original photo :-) but is still standing as it is now a listed building........ also pinpointed the address and name of the pub in which my large extended family gathered for celebrations all those years ago..... the name has changed a few times over the years but it too is still standing. ! :-D
