My oh has been a lover of board games since a child. I remember him with his young pals all gathered round the table, he having studied the rules of the game would be moving aircraft and ships around for his friends..

He has quite a large collection. However, wanting some family games for various ages to play on caravan holidays, I've been browsing the charity shops. I've been amazed to find even the tattiest of boxes in pristine condition on opening. I can only guess that with the advent of computers, less are enjoying family time with a board game.

I picked up four lovely games today, almost as new, sometimes they are still in their cellophane wrappers. It's been enjoyable searching and have spent an evening indulging his hobby rather than watching tv.

We are totally addicted to the various versions of "Ticket to Ride".

We play others as well Alhambra, Carcassonne, Mystery of the Abbey and a few others in similar vein.

We also still play Trivial Pursuit.

Have you ever tried playing Monopoly on a computer? I'm sure the computer cheats. :-|
