I was busy cooking in the kitchen and didn´t get around to turning the TV off. Can somebody please explain why this programme became a cult. ?

Because of it's double meanings, kids think îts a funny cartoon n adults laugh as they don't realise the naughtyness,

Hayley it may be the longest running USA series but I still don´t understand the cult idea of the Simpsons.
