Ann replied to a PM a bit early today. Unfortunately she is finding the boards/threads a little confusing. In this instance, she's inadvertantly posted new threads in 2 different places as well as adding the research query to this one

She has said that she has met up with Tracey last year & doesn't need contact details for her.

Ann has started another thread on this board, so probably better to continue there....

Hi i am looking for my grandparents Joshua Ward 1868 and Ann Elizabeth Daley 1872, I was about 7 years old when my father George Henry Ward passed away 1910-1971.He never said much about his family so i just wanted to find out as much as I can about his parents and who my great grand parents where. Also my father married a woman and had a child called Philip Ward before he married my mother in 1962 Violet Tyler,not sure what his first wife's name was but i think Philip would of been born between 1940 and.1952 I think. Regard Ann

I know that my GF was a docker who died in Purdeysburn Hospital 1/3/140
His wife died the following year. Their son, my Father joined Wimpey in March 1940
and worked all over England, settling in Newcastle.
GGF however is very important, yet a mystery. I think he was a weaver suggesting he worked in the mills.

If you know the area that your GF & GM lived in, you could try church records, or contact the local genialogy club to see if they can help you, OR try the old news papers in that area. Military records is another. Did they have an old work house in the area, if so you might be able to find records of people that had been in the workhouse. Land owner records or prison records is another idea. You could contact the british red cross to see if they could help you. I hope this helps.

Do you mean prior or post 1911? If post do you have access to the 1939 register?

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 23 Feb 2016 23:07

As mentioned last March - start a thread on Find Ancestors. Give us the 1911 census details, and what else you know.

We may have access to records which you don't + there are several members who excel in discovering those who appear to have been born, fully formed! :-D

If your father and grandparents are dead, why not start a thread on Find Anvestors?

Were you adopted? If so instead of Find Ancestors, a thread looking for your father on Find Living Relatives may be more appropriate.

If you've sent Tracey a message, she may not pick it up if she's changed her registered email address but not her GR contact details.

Unknown Report 31 Mar 2015 08:01

I would just like to find her,it seems she is the only person that knows anything about my father and grandparents

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 31 Mar 2015 07:48

She may have taken her line back as far as she could, then back down via a distant aunt/uncle of hers.

If she's added you or other living relatives to her tree without their permission, you are entitled to ask GR to remove them.
