Well I wonder if those letters hidden under the floor boards in one of the bedrooms had anything to do with the old lady being connected to the hous in some way ? |

Everybody swears my dad's house is haunted. It's quite a new house. My dad bought it from the family of the original owner (after the original owner died). |

Jason, there are a few people on here who have an interest in the paranormal, so won't think it strange at all :-) |

You will probably think that I am mad but the reason I am so interested in this address is because the first night in the house my mother woke to see an old woman dressed in old fashioned clothes (Black dress with a high white frilly collar and a white cap) just standing over her looking at her. My Mum screamed with the shock and the figure disappeared. She never saw the old lady again until 15 years later on the night before we moved out. Again she saw the same lady wearing the same clothes and she again vanished when my mum screamed. There was nothing threatening and we never felt uncomfortable in the house, we had great times there. Some of the workmen who were working on the house when Mum and Dad moved in mentioned cold spots in certain rooms. I would really like to see if I can find out who this lady was, as I am really interested in the paranormal. If you have read this before on my thread its because my pervious entry I deleted by accident. Sorry to repeat myself ! |

If the letters referred to the First World War and they weren't anything to do with the Perkins family then someone who lived at Wadham Road after them must have brought the letters with them. |

FMP is Find My Past, the sister site to Genes R, I use Ancestry for records myself but I think an address search is easier on FMP, just to see who was in the house before 1911 perhaps. |

Jason I saw your other post before it went, given your description of the lady I would think prior to Donald living there? intriguing! ...maybe someone can take a look for the address before the 1911 census ( I believe you can search addresses on FMP?) |

Ok thanks Rambling Rose. I must have got my facts wrong and Donald and Lizzy lived in Wadham Rd and his mother henrietta lived round the corner in gladys ave. My search to find out who was there when Donald moved out continues to piece togetherwho lived there from when it was first built to the 70's |
