I saw the beginning, but had to turn over when he (who must be in his late 30's, early 40's) was incapable of opening a tin of pilchards properly with an 'old fashioned' tin opener :-0 |

I have never used one of those can spanners, not since I was four and pinched my finger. |

Yes I'm watching it. Mum is a disaster in the kitchen. Laughed at her attempts to make chips in a chip pan. |

We've watched the last 3 episodes. 1950 onwards. We feel that as the husband normally does the cooking, the wife has very little experience to draw on. They do have the disadvantage of not having ingredients left over from earlier meals which they can use the next day. |

I thought I could remember Viennettas from before the time they said but now I think I must have been remembering Arctic Rolls. |

I've only seen the 70's one and was more interested in the décor etc. (which was very well done if a little OTT) than the 'cooking'. Mrs R seems totally clueless and like a fish out of water in the kitchen. Even the fried eggs looked like something alien. |

Normally, I'll try any food once - I even had a 'Happy Meal' at a McD's - once - but the smell of Pot Noodles in the 70's was just too much :-( |

They do smell a bit but I like those processed peas that smell like farts. |

It's been interesting but the woman of the house is a bit dozy. |
