A very worthy cause, Shirley, and I am sure Terry would be pleased that his favourite charity was being supported in his name.

I noticed a Help for Heroes shop has opened in our local shopping mall which is, I hope, is making more money to help our service personnel.

Even though you can't be there you'll be thinking of him Shirley and that's the important thing :-)

Been talking to his sister also in her 90,s and his funeral is next Tuesday at Mortlake crem Richmond Surrey

We wont be able to go cos OH cant do the journey . Its close family flowers anyway which his sisters family are doing BUT bless him he was so concerned about our troops who got injured in Afghanistan and other conflicts that he contributed to the HELP THE HEROES Charity so they are having a collection at the funeral for that charity.

I will send his sister a cheque for the charity for what we would have spent on flowers

Shame we cant say our goodbyes to a really nice man but living in Kent I cant make the journey <3

I am sorry for your loss, Shirley but hope good memories of Terry will stay with you. Although he died alone I am sure other family members returned to gather him back to his loved ones.

my daughter in laws gran dies a couple of weeks ago aged 104 :-( :-(

Terry was a very quiet man but he always showed up for family occasions like marriages etc

He paid me an enormous compliment when I was younger saying i looked like one of the 1950,s models . Name escapes me now think it was a Barbara.

He kept himself to himself even though we all knew he had a male partner who sadly passed away leaving him in the family home BUT sadly liking a drink to blot out things .

The house now isnt in the best of condition so will need some hoard clearance,

But its still sad that he passed away alone even though his sister says he looked peaceful and asleep

Very sad to lose any relative Shirley even when it is expected in a way because of age. My sympathies to your OH also, it's some consolation perhaps that it does sound as if Terry went quite peacefully at home.

OH,s Gran was the eldest of a large family that sadly only 3 survived into adulthood and married and had families

One sister had two chidren and the younger one Terry has just passed away aged. 90

Sadly he lived alone and passed away in his sleep earlier this week
