Cheques cleared so will be sending donation off next week to Guide Dogs for the Blind, in memory of Dutch/Joyce. If anyone else wants to donate, let me know please.

Thanks to all who sent donations. I will obviously let Jan know too with a list of those involved.

Thanks Elizabeth, I am sure I will be ok. Will see how I get on but my neck seems to have eased.

You look after yourself too.

Dear Purple

Hello

Was just about to sign off.

Are you allright?

Take things very easy for the next couple of days.

Any doubts, then go straight down to the local walk in centre or casualty.

Try and rest.

Take very gentle care
Best wishes to you
Elizabeth, EOS
xx

Stella, yes, I have asked for the info to be sent, so I can use the Post Office.

I managed to get the bus into the city and reached the Halifax just before closing. One of the managers came and apologised to me. He showed me the envelope that had snarled up the machine so that my deposit couldn't be accepted, the previous person hadn't put their envelope in straight and it was all scrunched up with their cheque inside. He said that they had been having ongoing problems with the machine so planned to get the engineer in.

On the bus home, the driver stopped abruptly because of the car in front (too close in a busy queue of traffic) I slammed forward on to the rail and almost hit my head/face on the board on the side of the stairwell. I hit my wrist on the bar and realise now that I have sort of whiplash to one side of my neck. I did mention to the driver that I had hurt my wrist but thought it just bruised and took note of the bus number. Just hope my neck pain eases soon.

Liz,
Don't worry about it....we know it is safe and it does take time to get these things done...it's harder these days with banks and not many people using cheques ....also a lot of banks automated .
Just sort it when you feel up to going in again.

Some of you must be wondering why I haven't yet cashed the cheques you kindly sent in memory of Dutch.

I have twice tried to pay them into the hole in the wall machines at my local Halifax, which is in the city centre and not somewhere you can park close to. Also because of my cfs etc I find it hard to get there in working hours.

I managed to get there on Good Friday at 6pm only to find the first machine out of order and the second with no envelopes.

Yesterday I tried again as I had use of the car and felt up to driving and walking from the car park. What did I find but one machine that didn't accept deposits and the other yet again with no envelopes. I thought I was being clever and took my own long envelope but the machine wouldn't accept it, even tho I tried twice.

I came back spitting feathers with my energy levels low, and phoned to complain. After many apologies and promise of an email to the manager today, I was awarded compensation for petrol, phone calls and inconvenience which was something but I still have to get back there and pay the cheques in. I will try to go by bus today altho I will still have a distance to walk at either end, hope I can find the energy otherwise I will have to wait til o.h. can take me one aftenoon next week. He is on lates this week.
