Bit late but Happy New year! Following a stay in hospital earlier this year (pseudomonas) I returned home after 15 days on drips to discover another dreaded lurgy had descended.

Turned out to be psoriasis and a different strain to the normal. Blotches/spots similar to chicken pox everywhere apart from face/hands/feet.

Been two months now - anyone else tell me how long this lasts and does it recur?

Apparently my immune system been playing up since last year.

It says on there that it's long-lasting. A bit vague, I thought.

nice to see you posting again

sorry cant give any info on the condition as it varies so

Our grandson now in his thirties had awful problems with Psoriasis as a youngster he had all the usual treatments of special baths, ointment creams etc that sometimes seemed to help but at times the flareups had it own agenda . He was even rejected for the Army because of it which was devastating for him as his Dad and Dads paternal line had been career soldiers .

In his case he has to be careful with personal hygiene etc but his skin does seem to have settled

Sadly though he does know that he hasnt been cured and it can flare at any time

I guess its going with the flow on a day to day basis

Hi Chris,

sorry to hear you've not been well. I had wondered where you were as hadn't seen you post for quite a while.

Sorry I can't offer any advice although there are various creams/solutions that can be put in the bath.. eg Oilatum is one we used for son when he was small as he had very dry skin. Another was Aquascutum or something similar. Both did help and eventually it cleared away by itself.

Hope you find something soon to help.

Take care

Aquamax is the name you were thinking of Florence - ordered some from Amazon yesterday for a family member. They do a cream and also a 'wash' in this product. :-)

Isn't pseudomonas an infection in a psoriasis sufferer?

I've had psoriasis most of my adult life and it has developed into psoriatic arthritis

I can live with the psoriasis but the arthritis in my wrists is ugly and painful

You should ask your specialist for advice

I use Exorex for my skin and even rub it into my scalp when I have flare ups, again check with your GP

I have psoriasis in my nails too, nothing to help with that!

Gins
pseudomonas is an infection re the lungs and unfortunately once infected is always there: best can be done is to endeavour to keep it at a low level - if it gets out of control then it is a 2 week holiday with drips attached! First appeared in 2011.

I have various creams plus washes etc. The pox has disappeared and have blotches instead. At diagnosis GP till tell OH possibly last 4 months. See what Matron comes up wwith on Tuesday.

Thanks all for info.

Sorry you have had such a rough time of things Chris, and I hope life improves as time goes on, although I know you do have long term problems.

cortisone cream doesn't work for me any more.

I've used honey for a while now........ leave it on as long as possible before rinsing it off with warm (definitely not hot!) water

I've recently started using coconut oil....... it helps take the heat away.
