maggie .................

a charity is appealing here for old cell phones ............. they give them to homeless people on the street, to be used as safety.

Apparently the phones can be set to phone 911 to call the police, but not used for anything else. That applies even if they are not still registered with any service.

Is the same possible with you?

It's hardly surprising they're becoming a thing of the past - expensive to get developed and some are awful!!!

Finally got the pictures developed. They were taken between 8 and 15 years ago.
Many are photo's of my grand daughter as a toddler, and my daughter's dog. T
There's a party my sister had (probably for her 50th), which include photo's of her late husband. A visit we made to my late mother's place in Portugal, that I think was her 70th birthday party.
.......and 2 films that prove my children 'borrowed' my camera :-|

One is a whole film containing pictures of the re-enactment of the civil war at Cheriton :-(
The other one.......well, I think it was a festival or party. Both girls are pictured with bleary eyes etc etc.Nothing toooo embarrassing, but Facebook - there may be some new photo's!

We're all meeting up on Sunday (my sister, her son & partner, and grandchildren, both my children, one husband and their children, my ex, etc) I'll take the photo's with me, give my sister the pics of her husband, and show my girls 'their' pictures :-D :-D :-D

I found a ticket for a pair of shoes that I had put into the repair shop about five years previously. When I took it to the shop, the snob (look the word up!) went out the back, and after rummaging about for a few minutes said "They will be ready next week"

I got a free postage envelope from Carphone Warehouse to send my old phone off when I bought my new one.

They said there was no reason why I couldn't put other old phones in it at the same time.

I'll see if there's one local to me, Elizabeth.
I'd love to get rid of them!!

If you don't want to sell the phones a lot of charities ask for them - our Great North Ambulance specifically ask for them

Sue, I hope the film is okay too!
It's been kept in a dry atmosphere, so here's hoping :-D
Ann, I looked into that a while back. Unfortunately my children didn't choose 'good' phones :-(

AnninGlos Report 18 Apr 2015 16:35

Sell the phones and chargers on ebay, even older ones sell sometimes.

Maggie, i wouldnt like to say, in public, what is in my drawers. :-D :-D :-D

maggiewinchester Report 18 Apr 2015 12:57

I had a good clear out of my drawers yesterday (oooh Matron :-D).

I obviously hadn't had a rummage for years - found bank statements from 2007 :-(
Well, at the back of a few drawers, I found a few undeveloped films - and one unused one . :-D
I have 3 x 35mm films and 9 x APS films to be developed.
Whilst I'm intrigued about what's on them, I'm not looking forward to the cost. :-( but feel I must get them processed.
I'm also going to get them developed as old-fashioned prints, rather than on a CD.

I also have a black bin-bag full of rubbish, an empty drawer, and enough mobile phones and chargers to fill a small cardboard box - and I've only had one phone, the original Nokia, that I still use - so the phones must be a by-product of my children - who both left home years ago :-D :-S

What have you found in your drawers?
