If women ruled the world there wouldn't be any wars. What planet do you live on? AnnCardiff. Who was prime Minister during the Falklands conflict? What sex is the Prime Minister of Argentina who even now is threatening the peace of the South Atlantic yet again? Was Golda Meier a dove? Just a thought.

Only if Clare Short could be cloned 300 times and sat on both sides!

So all the bunch who could not be ar'ed to push for enquiries into such scandals as care homes, child abuse and Hillsborough, sheep farmer poisoning, the bunch who claimed for flipping 2nd houses and made a bundle at tax payer's expense, the bunch who mostly don't even bother to turn up in the House for important debates from a constituents point of view ... are the best people for the job!

Possibly though the selection process is well and truly broke.

The best person for the job rather than positive discrimination. Well, thats what it should be.

Things probably won't change in politics until members of the selection committees recognise that women can have 'house husbands' or other support networks to care for any children they may have (or plan to have).

We may have to wait until the dinosaurs have retired from public life.

Yet another UK election with around 80% of the candidates men. Given it is around 90 years since women got the vote this has to be very undemocratic to say the least of it. .Yet not a bleat from any party except the Greens.

Do you think that this sad state of affairs matters and more to the point is it bad for the country ? What would be wrong with a 50% quota of women MPs starting in 2020?
