I grew up next to a dairy farm.

Ooooh, the lovely smell of country air in the spring :-(

That is pretty vile.

Smelling the loveliness of the slurry has made me realize how few chemical smells we get around here now.

It used the be the stink of artificial fertilizer and insecticide sprays but they don't appear to be about much now.

Luckily, the people down the road have given up on pigs, they were totally yummy in the hot summer of 1976, mmm.

The smell I really do find anti- social, and I have not even smelled that for a long time, is that horrible piddly smell when stables burn the manure.

What a stink, what a waste!

If you drink the milk you should smell the by-product.

When we used to visit our daughter in Germany it was the times the local farmers spread the slurry. The awful pong in the air was nauseating .

They would keep all the windows closed to try and keep it from permeating

It smells considerably better than chemical fertilizer.

Vile smell.

The first time it happened around here, the house at the back was having their grass cut. As they had a dog, we were blaming them for disturbing the Poo.

This is the week when the dairy farm at the other end of the village empties the slurry lagoon and spreads the content about a bit.

Oh, the joys of country living!
