you may as well leave it here now Meriel - it doesn't matter that much really :-)

Thank you for that comment. i have not used Genes Reunited for a while and unfortunately had problems sorting out changes on this web site so that I use the correct posting system. The listings are not that clear. I am obviously after particular information help rather than general chat. Will try a different approach.

You really would have done better to have posted this on either Genealogy Chat or Find Ancestors as there are several other helpers on those Boards who never look at General Chat.

Trying to find a possible birth record for our Gt Grandmother Alice Watson. She was born Barnet according to 1861 census & then aged 12, so a 1849 birth would be about right. Not found the family in 1841 or 1851 which may have been before they arrived in islington. one would have thought Gt Gt Grandmother having a less usual name would have been helpful, but obviously not. Myra used in subsequent generations indicates that is the correct spelling. The youngest brother seems to have the right wife - gave his sons unusual names too. Perhaps I should work on him some more

I can't find a marriage (maybe they never married) but this looks like Matilda's birth:-

First name(s) MATILDA
Last name WATSON
Birth year 1854
Birth quarter 2
Registration month -
Mother's last name -
District ISLINGTON
County London
Country England
Volume 1B
Page 187

The birth certificate would give you Myra's maiden name.
