what you need is something called a clean break order
it stops future claims on a ex partner

I was told to put in a claim against any future potential inheritances but refused to do so.

Usually an inheritence is excluded as it wasnt generated within the marriage or used as part of any collateral within the marriage,,ie to buy a bigger property that became the main family home.

In reality its not divisable in the UK..

Its hers to freely do as she wishes,,,,,other countires may have different rulings,

Surely if it's willed to her, it's hers!!
The days when a woman's property/money automatically became her husbands are well gone!!

Not sure what happens if it's willed to both of them, though.

She may have to declare it, though (solicitors fees etc)

Hi, a friend of mine who is midway through a divorce wants to know that if one of her parents die whilst she is stil married to her husband and leaves her a sum of money in their will, does she have to give the husband any of it or can she keep it all in another account for herself?
