GinN

GinN Report 3 May 2015 20:26

Not too hot or exotic this time :-D ;-)

A cruise down the Danube, from Nuremburg to Budapest :-D :-D

**Ann**

**Ann** Report 3 May 2015 20:30

A river cruise....my dad went on one down the Danube the year before he died, he was unsure at the time of booking as he had only done cruises on the big ships. He really enjoyed it and couldn't praise the service enough. The food was fab as well!

I'm glad your dad enjoyed it, Ann, I've got high hopes of it, too :-) :-)

Have you tried that new website How-Old.net? Where you post a photo and it tells you how old you look? :-0 :-0

I tried my avatar pic, and it tells me I'm 10 years younger :-0 Now, that's a website I like :-D :-D :-D ;-) ;-) ;-)

Lol Gin your head will be swelling :-D :-D

Not seen that will have to dig out me secondary school photos :-D ;-)

Have you got any further on James Ellis....I think about him quite often...saying birthplace Anglsey..and there being one born there the correct year...did you follow him up?

GinN

GinN Report 3 May 2015 20:49

I've put Joseph Ellis on the back burner for the moment, Ann. I think I've discounted the Anglesey one, as it didn't fit when I followed it through the census.

I was contacted by a 1st cousin x 4 on my Mam's side recently, and got side tracked.
We swapped photos and stories - it proved really interesting :-D

Might be worth digging a bit deeper on that one though Gin...think I looked and saw him there in 1861 and the father James aboard ship..then no sign there in 1871 of mother & father....did they move off the Island him going into mining, even remarrying?

Did you find out anything you did not already know from the cousin?

GinN

GinN Report 3 May 2015 21:07

His great grandfather x 2 was my great grand uncle, and he wanted to know about him, and he was able to tell me about his wife and daughter, his great grandmother.
His wife was quite a character - she remarried when he died, and ran various boarding houses , then died aged 90 at her pub in Durham. :-D :-D

Going to say goodnight now, as Im watching The C-Word :-D :-D <3 <3
