Thanks for the info. I could see where some of the available seats were but wasn't sure how good they would be. There is a lot of info on trip advisor but doesn't mentionsest references.

O.h. hasn't mentioned it again, so will see what happens in the next few days. It's a lot of money to pay out when he has already shelled out for the holiday cottage, then there is petrol and meals out when we are away, and we are off to Chelmsfor before our holiday to see his son and grandkids, 2 nights in an hotel plus more petrol etc

I am not desperate to see Take That live altho I probably would enjoy it.

I've been there twice - once to see Kenny Rogers - that was good as I had a seat on the side and the view was good - however with Elton John it was completely different - had I not known who the act was I wouldn't have know it was him - he was a spot in the distance!!!!

it does look that way from the pic AnnC, flat floor seating if you don't want to be sideways.

I had that experience in an arena like that years ago ... flat seating on the floor level and then Mr Baby Beluga sat down in front of me just before the first act came on ... a foot (or a head!) taller than me and his head, neck and shoulders were all about the same width, and he bobbed sideways in time to the music, so I had to bob counter to him to see the stage at all

but it wasn't people with trays of beer, it was the three adolescent girls that one of their fathers had brought along to something that plainly didn't interest them, who got up every 10 minutes to go buy sweets. After about four episodes of having to let them squeeze past, I said No. Go the other way. and didn't budge. so they did :-)

but then ... I saw the Rolling Stones from flat floor seating in an arena back in something like 1971 ... but we were in the second row from the front, and nobody sat on their seats much anyway :-D

if it's anything like Cardiff motorpoint Arena - give it a miss - the main arena is flat and people are up and down all through any concert with trays of beer - also Cardiff Motorpoint charge £7:00 per ticket booking fee - even if you go there and pay cash!!! big rip off!!!

Lol I am such a strange mixture, aren't I ?

My head wants to do so much, the old body with arthritis, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome holds me back, darn it? O.h. is 7 yrs younger than I am, but has his own health problems, we are a right pair!

I can't help with the question but I had to chuckle :-)

there you were in my thread fretting about being oooold ... and here you are going to an arena to see a band!

but then here you were with your 'old' aches and pains ...

The tall dude and I went to a folk festival a few years ago to see a 60s favourite and were rather proud of ourselves that we did not yet look like the crowd of fans from the era in the front rows with their cardie tops and stretchy bottoms ... but we're getting there

and the 'forgetfulness' ... but therein lies a whole nother discussion

Go for it and go and have a great time!

Has anyone been there to see a band/group and if so, what seating area would you recommend for two people, 5'6" tall, who aren't fit enough to stand and dance?
I prefer to look as straight ahead as possible as arthitis in my neck causes problems if I am looking too much to one side.
O.h suddenly said the other day did I know Take That were on tour and he would like to see them and thought we should go. Where that came from I am not sure but I promptly checked the tour list and find they are in Sheffield the first few days of our holiday nearby. I told him the price of the tickets and he didn't bat an eyelid, just said book it. I said I would wait and check the seating. There aren't many tickets left.

Next evening he said the same thing Take That are on tour, we should go. I told him we had already spoken about it, told him the price and he said we will go halves - huh!

He often forgets conversations we have had which is worrying but he won't go to the doctor. However, I hope I can still book while he is agreeable, just want to get as good seats as possible, so any help would be appreciated.
