Questions of political personalities, past performance, competence & stability were issues about which the electorate should have made prudent judgements before today's voting opportunity.

Me? You must be joking! Having parked in a road which seems to have its own full-time traffic warden, I rushed in, rudely grabbed the voting slips from a very nice overseer who was doing her best to explain how I should complete the various coloured forms - but not telling me who to vote for, you understand. Even I know that would not be legal.

Anyway, it was nice to be welcomed outside at the door with a big smile by a handful of prospective council candidates, some of whom I had not set eyes on for nearly five years. Good job they were all wearing name badges, otherwise I would have flown passed them without as much as a nod.

I understand that government manifestos will be used to light the bonfire on Guy Fawkes night. That lot should brighten up any dull November's evening.

I thought Bob was a builder. Wasn't it Sam that was the fireman? :-S

We had to vote three times today. We had to vote for one parlimentary candidate, two parish councilors and three district coucilors. I've got repetative strain injury now after putting all those x's in boxes. :-D

I think everyone has forgotten what Maggie Thatcher did to the country,,ie right to buy,No discipline for kids in school/threat of the slipper/cane.

Then no houses built and kids screaming and carrying on.And it's even worse now.

"I told you so"! - the favourite election result phrase of many of my colleagues who claim to be semi-professional soothsayers.

Smug sods!

Is that me that has been RR'd? Can't remember what it was I said. As for sensible debate, that is not what I come on this board for. Life is too short to be sensible. By the way ladies, I am a retired fireman.
