Yep - was built by Reliant after they bought out Bond.

Some of my favourites, amongst others, were a bored out Mini (which went like the proverbial of a shovel), a 2CV (which was nicked by joy riders!), an air cooled Citroen GS (an all-time favourite of mine - quick and comfortable and swallowed loads - wish I still had it as they are now becoming collectable) and, finally, a gorgeous Alfa 145 (one of the last "boxers" to be imported into the UK, when it worked it was a joy to throw around the country lanes round here and had a fantastic exhaust note). I've just put a bid in for a TVR but am waiting to hear whether I have been outbid.

Errol is forgetting the Bond Bug which was a three wheeled sports car with go faster stripes and a Reliant engine. Those that are left fetch high prices.

My own contribution to 70s motoring was a minivan, a CooperS (better but had to make alterations in order to get into it), MG Midget ( big mistake too tall for it), Bond Bug (yeah), Triumph Stag ( over reacton to the Bug, very unreliable, can be seen in "New Tricks" ), Maxi (ugh prezzie from ex-father in law), Fiesta1300S ( S for slow, replaced by Escort RS which was quick), Rover3500 (free from British Playland as a wedding present)(free was about right given the running costs), LHD Citroen 2CV (success running costs near zero)( tilted around corners in much the same way as the Bug), Hillman Avenger (terrible, wrote it off one icy winter), white Transit van ( still the option of choice for getting around London) , assorted motor bikes.

Somehow avoided 1100, Cortina, Marina, rusty Renaults and such.

Of all these the CooperS and the Bond Bug were by far the most fun.
I suspect the Robin is good fun too as well as ez on the wallet which is why yr neighbour is brand loyal.

I saw a couple of Scimitars earlier in the week - haven't seen one for ages and then two come along.

Reliant did make other three-wheelers - Regal, Rialto and Ant (plus loads of variants) as well as four wheel cars such as the Fox and Kitten although I always thought the Rebel was a bit of a misnomer.

He is using up the remaining stock of Reliants in the world I think and every one costs him considerably more than it would cost him to pass his driving test and buy a new car.

Reliant made more than Robins, just like Morris made more models than Morris Oxfords but I bet most people would be hard pressed to remember them.

It's a Reliant but I don't think this one is a Robin.

M,(homeless people stole that shed), turned up today, in the three wheeler.

He was wearing his usual stylish garb of legs too short grey jogging bottoms, plastic shoes, grey socks and pullover over polo shirt and absolutely reeking of after-shave.

Well,I don't know if this is what you wear when you are on the pull so I asked him about the stylish pong.

It seems that he had been to the dentist and thought the after-shave would counteract any bit of dogs breath he might have.
