Anyone doing the 5-2 diet

I've been doing the 5-2 way of eating a while now and have lost 12.5 lbs so far. It's not difficult to do and I personally feel so much better for it. Is anyone else doing it and interested in comparing notes?

Although not unhappy with where I am now I would like to lose another stone, I'm 5 foot 10 inches tall.

Face Book have a brilliant 5-2 page with loads of help, motivation, recipes, before and after photos etc. you do need to be nominated to join it.

Hi Wendy, I have been on this diet for the past month and as of wed this week, i have now lost a stone! I am so pleased that I'm aiming for the next stone. On average I lost 3 lbs a week and it wasnt that difficult.

On my 2 days, I just have a bowl of cereal for breakfast and for my tea. For lunch at work an apple, yogurt and a banana. Yes Ive been starving the next morning but you soon get over that.

Good luck and anyone else doing it, lets have your news on this thread to see how you are all geting on.

Good thread Wendy.

Hi Florence, I love 5-2 as its so flexible and fits in socially with meals out etc. One of the benefits is you lose inches and your shape changes. You are the only one who sees the number on the scales but everyone you meet can see the inches on your body. Although basically I am doing this for myself, to be as healthy as I can be at my age. Since my husband died I am always aware that now there is only me to look after me and so I'm aiming to try and stay well. I have also noticed many other benefits from doing the 5-2 and so it really suits my way of life.

A couple of friends saw that this was working for me and so they are now doing it as well and we motivate each other.

I have not eaten breakfast for as long as I can remember so I don't find fast days difficult and I'm not hungry the next day. It doesn't take long for your stomach to shrink and your appetite to decrease. I couldn't physically eat big meals anymore.

My biggest problem is chocolate, I can't just eat one square. I have to eat the whole bar and get it out of the way so I never buy it now. If I am given it I try to pass it on because if I open it I have to eat it If it's not in the house I can't eat it. :-(

Have you seen the 5-2 group page on FB?

Good luck Florence with your next stone

Interesting, a 3d model of you based on height/weight and how you would look at you correct weight for height.

It will give some of you a laugh I'm sure but for me it's a bit more motivation to staying healthy.

Replied to your pm Nolls and I've lost another pound this week, I weigh every Tuesday.

Ive hit the first target and now 2lbs under the "thick black line," working towards the next target and hoping to lose 2lb a week. I weigh every Mon morning so heres hoping tomorrow will show another loss.

I have already had to take in my work trousers as they got rather loose and my jeans seem quite baggy. If all goes to plan, it will be great to fit back into some clothes i havent worn for a couple of years lol..

Keep going ladies. Lets give each other lots of encouragement :-D :-D

Well done Florence, it does take a bit more determination as time goes on but because it so flexible it's not difficult.
