I have always thought that cooking was supposed to be about making what was available palateable.

I would think that left overs are better for sick people than some of the processed foods folk eat these days.
I have left overs of food I have prepared.and as I live on my own I can cook too much and warm it up next day...and at my age ,can't abide waste.havent come to any harm yet!! :-S

Is it good for sick people to be fed on left-overs?

You should be organising school/hospital meals!

I did do the village lunch, forty-five people, for thirty quid a couple of years ago. That was two courses.

I bet you could have fed the five thousand, and done it on a lot less than 5 loaves and two small fish ;-)

Friday we had a curry for tea, just the two of us.

I think I used a jar of Jalfrezi, it is the one with the tomatoes in it, so I put in a tin of tomatoes as well, a couple of spuds, a couple of big carrots, a bit of swede that was lurking in the fridge, about a third of a packet of Quorn chicken style pieces and the same of frozen peas that had stuck together in a lump and that I was fed up with chipping about at and, of course, a couple of the ubiquitous green Oxos.

Goodly portion of curry with rice for each of us Friday, a portion each for Fred's mate and M, another portion each for us tonight AND ten pasties for the lunchbox and Fred's mate and M to take home.
