yes, a lot more for the job as advertised in central London.
For instance in central London a junior software engineer will get about £ 40 K, prof. accountant £ 40-100, tube driver £55-60 K p.a.

Employers often fill temp vacancies with somebody who wants to get back into work of whom the most common victim is a woman who has been out for a few years bringing up kids.

As far as HM Revenue are concerned anybody employed solely by one firm for one month or six months is an employee and usual paye and ni have to be paid. There is a tendency to try and avoid this on short term vacancies describing people as "contractors" when they are not. (google IR35 ).

The Day Rate seems reasonable for a Contractor, or are we missing something? Does the Industry usually pay more??

Here is a 6 month job to cover a lady on maternity leave.
It seems that the rift between men and women's pay remains too wide.
Or maybe there is some other explanation.
