A generator right next to my Grandchildren's school, serving the school, hospital and nearby works, exploded lunchtime today and set the school on fire!

The school was evacuated but everyone is safe. Unfortunately some of year 11 were about to sit an ITC GCSE.

The power is out, and there is smoke damage. But if the children had not had early lunch today, they may have been outside near the generator! It does not bear thinking about!

Grandson 1 has an English Literature GCSE tomorrow at 9am, so I don't know what's going to happen. There is talk about them having to go to a school in another town. That will be very disconcerting. Plus I have to find it!

At least all are safe, that's the main thing! :-) :-) :-)<3

Some good news for those who had hoped travel by rail over the Bank Holiday weekend :-) the rail strike planned for Monday & Tuesday next week has been called off :-)

I have just got back home having popped into my local town centre on my mobility scooter for a couple of hours to do my weekly shopping ;-) although the forecast for my corner of Kent is for a mainly dry day with some warm sunny spells ;-) they said that last week and I got caught in a downpour :-( and as there is the possibility of the odd shower this afternoon and at times tomorrow :-( and as I didn't want another wet bottom :-D I decides to get my shopping done and dusted this morning :-D
