Rail Strike Has Been Called Off

There is some good news for those travelling over the Bank Holiday weekend :-) the rail strike planned for Monday & Tuesday next week has been called off :-)

It was always going to be called off. The whole thing is a sort of lobster quadrille whereby the mgt demonstrate to the govt how tuf they r and the union shows it is will get top dollar for its members. Neither side wants to seriously damage the other.

By west European standard pay for rail workers is pretty average while their productivity is higher than most except Swiss Rail. And even they go on strike ...

So now the Tories are pinning their hopes on a tube strike.

RolloTheRed - judging by the mood in several areas that government has demanded cuts :-( they will get all the strikes thay want and more :-D
