Despite all our reasons for not getting another cat , we miss so much not having a cat around after losing our lovely girl Mirabelle last july, that both of us are weakening now and thinking of taking a look at the local Cats Protection home

I know taking a look will mean we will see a puss we both like and can't resist

Hubby wants a female cat because our little Girl was such a lovely lady

I too am thinking I would like to see a puss around the house even though it was heartbreaking losing our girl that I said NEVER again it's too painful losing them

Getting soft in our old age I think

i went for a kitten to the cat rescue
but Touchwood chose us
Scarlett was mistreated and a bag of bones
when she came in the rescue her story made us pick her unseen
and Steve was a hand rear and still thinks I am his mummy

when you see the right cat she /he will be sent to you with love from Mirabelle
to mend your broken hearts :-D :-D :-D

My daughter got a 10 month old cat today. It has lived in a flat and never ever seen the outside world. She has booked her into being spayed on Wednesday and her life will start to begin x

How lovely, hope the cat will thrive in hernew home.

O.h's parents lost their two cats about a year ago. They recently took on an elderly stray from a cat rescue place who is settling in well You will not be sorry I am sure, Shirley.

Hope you find the right cat for you both

Well we went to take a look at our local cats protection but they have very few cats up for re homing .some had already been reserved or were kittens that we dont want to take on at our age

The reason they have so few is they are redeveloping the site so are only taking in what they have room for at the moment

There was one boy called Mr Tibbs who I liked the look of in his attributes ie a softy lap cat who liked lots of fuss but a quiet home with no kiddies or other pets .

I kept going back to look at him but hubby was adamant he wants a princess not a prince

They were transferring a female over to the re home block as we left but she was 3 years old and didn't have the that's the one Im looking for feeling for me

I am still thinking of Mr Tibbs and hubby has now said if that's what you want to go for then OK

They are closed now and we said we would go back again next week so if Mr Tibbs is still there he may the one coming home with us
;-)

Well Mr Tibbs it is !!!

We went back today to take a look at him and as the lady let him out of his pen he went to hubby and rubbed himself around hubby's leg then came to me and did the same . I offered my closed hand for him to sniff and he did just that and then rubbed my hand

He is only 2 years old so a bit younger than we want because of our ages but the cats protection have a scheme you can sign up to that in the event the cat doesn't have anyone to take care of it because of the owners demise they will take the cat back ,

Soooo we have our grandson tomorrow evening till wed. .he is the lad with learning difficulties but loves animals and is gentle but it's best the cat settles in with just us at first so we have reserved him and pick him up on Thursday

After losing our little girl last year I vowed never again as losing is too painful. But time passes and we do miss having a cat around and are ready to move on and give another cat our care and love

Well it seems that Mr Tibbs chose you.

I'm sure that once he settles in, you and your grandson are going to have many happy times with your new house guest.

Very pleased for you all, Shirley, I hope Mr Tibbs will settle in well. What's the name of your neighbours, not Tibbs I hope !

The reason I ask is that friends had a cat called Mr Smith and when they moved house, called the cat in one evening and the unmet neighbour's head popped up over the fence . Yes, the neighbour was Mr Smith too lol

Have fun
