Hi everyone,

I dont often come on GR these days, but i've decided to try and find my godmother.

All I know is she was my uncles neighbor in Newbury Berkshire, her name was Jean and she had 7 sons!

this was way back in 1970 and i've not heard from her since......

My goodness that is very little info

Maybe the church where you were christened will have her full name
so you can start to look

Her name was Jean Mckeown (not sure of the spelling) and she lived on Chaucer Crescent.

Thing is I've checked and no results! which is kind of odd.....

might ask my mom for the info.

Thank you Shirley

Well she must have been close to be asked to be a godmother

Think asking your mum for more info is the way to go

You could check the historical ER for the road. They'd probably be held at the nearest library with a local studies section.

With the correct spelling and the names of other adults with the same surname, you may be able to work out the family relationships and trace at least one of them.
