I had one today.
He claimed he was phoning from my provider (which he named).
I let him go on a bit, then said my usual line:
' I don't have a computer, please take me off your list'.
However, before he hung up, I did point out that his claims 'to be able to sort out my computer' were obviously a pack of lies, as he patently didn't know whether or not I had one.

Phone went down quick his end.

We got 1 last week, OH took the call. All I heard was - and I suggest you get a proper job - in an annoyed voice before phone was placed back on the base. :-D

I have admiration for quick thinking folk when these calls are answered

I had one last week . even though we are ex directory ,nos withheld , wont accept nos withheld nos etc etc

They asked to speak to the householder as in "can I speak to the householder?" my response was NOOOO and put the phone down

wish I had been quicker thinking and on the ball cos could have had some fun there I think . my defense is I was taken by surprise :-P

One of my nice foreign friends called today to tell me about my computer doing that critical thing it does and when I didn't quite understand what she was saying she shouted "Shut up you idiot lady" at me.

I just love those calls!
