I know what you mean Maggie.

We try to have fish once a week, usually get it at the fishermen's co-op, but sometimes get it at the deli counter at the supermarket...... except when the deli smells a bit too fishy! :-(

DH went off to the shops this morning......... came back with a leg of lamb. Guess what we had for dinner lolol

I hope you're not sick :-(
I usually go for fish if the place is a bit dubious.
Mainly because fish is usually frozen.
If you walk into the place and can't smell fish, you know the fish is probably frozen, therefore hasn't been hanging around.
If I smell fish - I have a sandwich. :-D

I survived....... so far.

I had lemon sole.... the plainest item on the menu.

DH ordered lamb........ and that's what he got....... three tiny bits of lamb nicely arranged on a big plate, with a few green herbs. I had to laugh........ gave him some of my potatoes & half of my salad.

Friends with us laughed, told him he was spoiled rotten at home :-D

Depressing for you to have so many things wrong, I hope you can get your hip/back sorted because bac ache is so debilitating.

Can you explain to your friend about your food intolerances and the fact that you can't be sure that things you are allergic to are not in the food there. And, if it is a new chef could you ask to speak to him at another time and show him what your allergies/intolerances are and ask if, when you eat ther, is it possible to have food that you are ok with (give him a couple of ideas). Tell him when you have eaten there before something has not agreed with you.

And finally tell your husband to be more sympathetic! <3 <3

Yup, and just to make things even better, got a reminder in the post to go for a mammogram.

No way can I curl myself up and stick my boobies in a squishing machine! I phoned them and asked to be reminded in September (I go back to see the orthopaedic surgeon in August).

moan moan moan :-(

Poor you, must be uncomfortable to get around with a sore back and a wonky hip. Hope you enjoy your evening out and don't feel ill tomorrow

I call DH Mr CIG........ cos he has a cast iron gut!

btw....... DH usually means Darling Husband, sometimes it means... something else.

I have some food allergies. I have asked the chef at the club if he uses these ingredients, and he said he didn't, but something isn't agreeing with me.

I have enough problems at the moment, with a wonky hip........ went to the physio who gave me exercises to do..... I must have done them either too much or the wrong way, because I've put my back out! I don't know which leg to limp on. :-(

I'm going out tonight...... but I am NOT eating at the restaurant

Send hubby and you go later, say you forgot you had an appointment, then just have a drink when you get there because you had to eat before the apptmt. Make sure you do eat before you go so your stomach doesn't rumble lol

No wonder you were ill if you ate so much that it took 2 days to bring it all up ;-)

:-(

"phone call last night, it's a friend's birthday today, she & her husband asked if we want to join them for dinner...... at the club.

I hate the restaurant there. I avoid it as much as I can, except for presentation night dinners etc. Why? because every time I eat there I get sick. The last time I had a meal there I threw up for 2 days!

DH says the restaurant has changed, and why don't I give it a try?

NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!

He's in a sulk, because I told him he could go, I'll have a big lunch.

Who is being difficult?

:-( :-( :-(
