I also used to get a bag of broken biscuits from Woolworths as a child. Now they do a box full in the factory shop with a choice of plain or with chocolate but I now avoid as I can do without the calories. |

My brother once when he was young went to Woolworths and asked to buy some broken biscuits which children often did. The new shop assistant said in a surprised voice "broken biscuits" we dont have those. Another assistant said aww go on, break some up for him. True this. |

You must have gone to a posh school. Our school dinners consisted of bread and dripping, but we only got fed after an hour on the treadmill, or picking oakum. |

When I was young we lived quite close to the Chiltonian biscuit factory and Mum used to go there and buy a huge brown paper bag of broken biscuits for a shilling. My favourites then were Bourbon biscuits and if I found a whole one I thought I'd hit the jackpot. |

I remember in the Home and Colonial stores, they had large tins of biscuits, with glass lids so you could see what was inside. |

When I was little my Mum used to own a shop and we used to sell biscuits by weight out of the tins. Including broken biscuits. One day at off school with tonsillitis I was sitting nice and quiet playing on the shop floor. ;-) |

Can you still get them? My Dad used to buy them at a factory he used to visit, from the staff shop. |

Broken biscuits contain a lot less fat. |

We eat biscuits but they don't make up a large part of our diet. |
