I am on holiday in Tideswell, Derbyshire. Sunday when we travelled was ok but the sun came out like a golden yellow lamp as the day progressed and made driving difficult. We left late as o.h. wasn't feeling too well but he was fine on the drive and now. Glad the cottage has thick walls and heating tho. I slept most of today, Monday, as expected, but as it's rained incessantly and the view is of trees blowing about and rain pouring down, it doesn't really matter, o.h. has been pottering round the cottage acclimatising to everything and watching tv. Good thing I brought some food with me so we could eat dinner, far too nasty to venture out!

I had seen the forecast so expected wet weather and we are cosy in the cottage but will get ourselves out tomorrow regardless. My son got me some brand new croc wellies from a charity shop so will test drive those lol

On the local news earlier it pointed out that in 1975 on June 1st the place was covered in snow so count your blessings folks and roll on the weekend!

Flaming June !!!! Flaming freezing here too Ann.

I have just been to the garden centre for a few more container plants, as you say, the poor little things can't go out in this, then by the end of the week they will fry !!

horrible here too - rain coming down like stair rods - but it promises to be warmer than the continent by the weekend - in the south of the UK anyway

1st June today and it is blowing a gale, wet and very cold. Hope the forcasters are right and we get some heat at the end of the week. Haven't even thought about getting summer clothes out yet. And we have some little plants waiting to go in as well, can't do it this weather they'd freeze. :-( :-(
