Yes ann, like the time I bought new shoes for my daughter who was just starting school.
After a week she complained that they were too big and she couldn't keep them on her feet.
I had written her name and class on the inside of the T bar but as it wasn't there it became obvious that these were not her shoes.
Only one other child in the class had the same ones so I asked the teacher if she could check and swap the shoes over.

At the end of the day she called me in.
She had spoken to the mother of the other child.
Her child had been complaining that her new shoes were too small so she took the child and the shoes back to the shop and exchanged them for a pair that fitted!
She never noticed my writing on the inside

I had no option but to go to back Clarks and buy another pair of school shoes.

My son in law spent days limping around in his trainers telling everyone that one foot had grown. It was only when grandson asked his mum had she seen his other trainer that the light came on. Both had the same trainers but different sizes

My late husband his father, and my son played rugby. So rugby songs were sung on many occasions, not always appropriate and certainly not alway appreciated. It's very difficult not to pick up the words, and they always seem to have a catchy tune too.

That is my defence! ;-)

Some years ago, on Christmas Day, a workmate of mine suddenly went into early labour and without much warning... gave birth on the livingroom floor.
( hysterical story about the elderly uncle who remained in his chair, completely non plussed throughout... awaiting for his Christmas dinner)

The ambulance arrived to take her and the baby to hospital.
She asked her OH to collect her already packed bag from the bedroom together with a pair of slippers or shoes.
He did as he was told, collected the items and accompanied them in the ambulance

Why on earth did her OH think that that a pair of 6 inch stilettos would be appropriate for the occasion?

I once had two pairs of shoes, both the same pattern, but different colours, Black, n Brown.........

could ring the changes on those quite easily

two black
two brown
one left black
one right brown
one right black
one left brown.......

I worked with a woman who turned up one day with odd shoes, one blue & one brown.

She 'phoned her husband and asked him to bring in the other brown shoe.

He turned up an hour later........ with one brown shoe that wasn't the same as the one she was wearing. Why didn't he bring a pair?

She went to the supermarket across the road and bought a pair of thongs (flip-flops).

Couldn't help but wonder what sort of mess her wardrobe was in.

She bought a few pairs of shoes, all the same but in different colours..... and wears odd shoes to match her outfits. Strange.

Try herding 3 excitable children and a fretting OH out of the front door at silly o'clock in the morning, and you too may stick your feet into an 'odd' pair of shoes :-D

The daft thing was that one shoe had a decorative 'gold' bar across the front. The other didn't. There wasn't a great difference in height, just enough to produce a slight limp.

It's lucky he stuck the door handle on with ointment, and didn't use the glue for........?. :-D :-D :-D :-D
