He's been volunteering for the NSPCC for years.
He does charity cycle rides, walks etc for them, About 4 times a month now (since he and my daughter have had a baby - it used to be more), he goes into schools to talk to children about problems they may have at home, and who they can contact if they're not happy.

This Sunday, he's taking part in the 'Men in Heels' walk in Worthing, where men are attempting to walk a mile in heels, to raise money for 'Safe in Sussex', which is a charity concerned with victims of domestic abuse.

Unfortunately, I can't get down there, but I'm sure my daughter will be taking photo's :-D :-D

Paul is walking a mile in women's shoes today - on behalf of 'Safe in Sussex' - a charity that helps those suffering form domestic abuse, and also aims to educate young people about aspects of domestic abuse - amongst other things - how to recognise it, how to avoid it, and where to seek help.

This is the first time I've seen him all 'dressed up', and as some of those in the pic look a little strange, I should tell you, Paul is the one on the left!! :-D :-D

kandj Report 14 Jun 2015 15:59

Obviously an extremely caring young man. He will be glad to get the shoes off though.
A very worthy cause, so Well Done to Paul and the others too.

Dermot Report 14 Jun 2015 16:08

Well done to Paul.

I hope he hurled a few oratorical thunder bolts at the 'powers that be' while speaking on the radio reminding them that financial assistance is & has regularly been raised by such good individuals.

Where might we be without selfless volunteers in many walks of life?

ChrisofWessex Report 14 Jun 2015 18:34

Don't they all look good? Is the one with the beard and split skirt getting chatted up?

maggiewinchester Report 14 Jun 2015 18:47

Kandj, I've suggested my daughter got in some muscle relaxant!!

Dermot, The interview started with the reporter explaining what Paul did - then asking him what he did! His reply was 'What you've just said' - he then went on to explain in more detail, but it reminded me of a comedy sketch I heard.

They do, Chris - almost outshine the lady mayoress (if you can spot her) :-D
