Ancestry can be so absorbing, Jem :-D - I've just logged on to it myself. I always find something new :-D

Just peeped in again!

I'm not on Ancestry!

Couldn't make head to tail of it!
Only thing I got- an original baptism record for the Transcription I already have, they wouldn't let me download! :-|

I've found 2 missing siblings for my 3x Great Grandmother on GR and I'm following them down! :-D :-D :-D

GinN

GinN Report 7 Jun 2015 21:22

I'm just the opposite Jem - I could never get on with searching for my ancestors on GR - I just use it to talk to you people :-D :-D ;-) ;-)

As Belle said, GinN - It's what you are used to.

I've done really well on GR and filled some gaps with FMP. Even the Mormon Website FamilySearch is useful. I've found loads online too.

It could be because Ancestry is only letting you see some of their features for free this weekend, and those are the things I already have.

Looking at the howlers on the Public Members trees has wound me up too! :-D
My Great Grandfather is the son of his Aunt for example! :-D :-D :-D

GinN Report 7 Jun 2015 21:47

Jem - some of the family trees on Ancestry are hilarious, I agree, especially the American ones! :-D :-D
It was a taster session at our local library that first got OH and me onto Ancestry, and we've never looked back.

Family Search is really good for filling in gaps, too :-D
