Well he has been with us now for two weeks . He had his first injection at the Cats Protection but needed to have the second one after we got him

I made an appointment with the vets who gave him the first one as it has to be the same one and we went this afternoon to get him done

He didn't like being in the cat basket and cried almost all the way over but then settled

Nice vet , he was given the injection and discussed the flea treatment and I bought a pack of 6 months supply to keep us on track

Sadly the vets is some way away so think it's too far for me but we will see

On the way home I did detect a smell and wondered if he had had a poo . Well getting him out at home he had crapped in the basket and getting him out, he was very wan and unhappy. I cleaned up the poo and tried to get him to come to me . Nope he wasn't happy, he went over to the back door and them poor lad he vomited several times .

He also crapped again as he walked away from the scene

He went upstairs and then came done a little later but I thought better check and yes he has puked again on the top landing . New carpet but I caught it in time so wiped it up and cleaned the carpet with a wet cloth that seems to have worked

Poor lad I feel awful he has been upset , probably a combination of the cat basket ride and the injection

He is snoozing now on the settee so hope he picks up overnight

Oh I hope he will be ok soon and back to his calm self. A good shaking of bicarbonate of soda will help remove the smell of vomit, hoover up later.

My daughter that took a cat on that had lived in a flat for 10 months she has come on lovely. She played up 2 weeks ago when she took her to be spayed. The poor cat came back with one of them funnels on her head and she was not allowed out (she was used to that). Today the funnel came off and she has layed in the garden all day sunbathing. One very happy cat. Shirley hope Mr Tibbs is much more himself tomorrow x

A couple we knew bought a pup but as he grew the wife who was very house proud decided that she didn't want him as he'd grown far too big and what she wanted was a very small dog. They lived in the Windsor area and we were in Nottinghamshire when we were offered him. My husband was working in north London at the time so picked him up in the car and drove him home.

The first few times he went in the car after this he was sick and stressed out. Then we got a caravan and started taking the dog on holidays no problems at all from then on. No don't get a caravan, I believe he got stressed out because the car meant being taken from home. The caravan holidays meant the whole family went including him. Mr Tibbs may have thought he was being left again.

Thanks all

Yes Pat it's possible he thought he was being got rid of again by putting him in the basket.

He stayed downstairs all night and was sleeping on my chair when I went down, he looked at me but didn't do more than raise his head. I sat in hubby's recliner and after a time he got down a wandered over and very slowly junped up onto my lap .
We had a gentle cuddle for a little while then he went back to my chair

I was in the kitchen a few minutes ago and he came in and looked at the place where his plate usually is so I put him down a small amount of Felix . He can have more if he wants it .

He seems a little more active now although still a bit off

My two cats don't particularly like the trip round to the vets for their boosters and MOT - it's a 10 minute walk and I have to stack their carriers one on top of the other in a sort of pushchair contraption and wheel them round (they would both fit in one carrier, as Singas are on the small side, but I've never worked out how to get cat B into the carrier without cat A escaping from it).

Milo, who we sadly lost to heart failure a couple of years ago, would always pee himself on route. However I always had vet bed in the carrier with newspaper underneath, so it would just pass through and get soaked up by the paper.

My vet does do home visits for an extra charge, but tbh, I think if the boys were in their own environment they'd struggle to escape more, and get even more distressed, once at the vet's they tend to be so overawed by the strange surroundings they just cooperate with the vet.

Remy even allowed the vet to do a comprehensive manual scraping of his teeth - I wanted to avoid an anaesthetic because of his heart murmur.

What tickles me is that the carrier they do their best to avoid being put into on the outward trip, they simply can't wait to get back to, when they're at the vets.

Hope Mr Tibbs is feeling more himself again soon.

He has eaten the rest of the pouch of food and is now sleeping on the settee

Not really where we want him to be as bought him a really comfy cat bed which is in the lounge but he doesnt seem to want it so far

Hubby said he did get in it a couple of nights ago but I havent seen him in it so far

He does seem to be a bit brighter though this afternoon so hopefully his blip was a combination of cat basket, car travel, new vet surroundings injection etc

think it all stressed him out poor boy

Maybe put his cat bed on the sofa, Shirley, till he's sure of it then move it down to the floor and gradually to the preferred place

Glad he's eating and seems ok
