When i now send a e-mail instead of sending it straight away as it did do it now transfer it to my outlook folder and i have to go in to that to send it. I am on outlook and it has only recently started to do this. Do anybody know how i can correct this so that when i press send the e-mail will go straight away. Edwin

Edwin - your tree on GR will still be the same. You'd have only downloaded a Copy

The GR exported GED does contain any notes.
But they do not get imported when I upload the file to Ancestry - or into PAF5 on my pc.

Thank you for the information. I take it that after i copy the tree to c.d. that i will still be able to work on the tree on Genes reunited.

1 choose option export it to a GED file
the GED file will arrive as an email attachment so make sure yr email address is correct
2 the attachment will be a text file even though the contents may look like gobble de gook
3 the GED text file can be saved to CD
4 the GED text file can be imported into most popular Gen. programs eg FTM

NB: the ONLY data which will be saved into the GED file are the tree structure, names, dates and places. Notes, photos etc will not be exported.

NB2: if you import a GED file then the current tree will be overwritten with no road back

the export can be quite slow so allow for that - hours for some people though I find 30 mins typical

Does anybody know how to burn a copy of the Family Tree from Genes Reunited on to a C.D.
