Couldn't make out the letter next to the wing. N is navigator. Knew he was aircrew with the wing, pilots have 2 wings so knew he wasn't a pilot. I am ex WRAF but somewhat later than your father. :-)

Pat the photo was taken just after he got his sergeant stripes, he was a radio operator during the war and was annexed to the SAAF.

It was the remembering that's important. Looks like a Sergeant Navigator from his uniform. A Brylcreem boy.

Happy Belated Birthday to your father and thoughts with you, my father would have been 99 on May 31st and he made spitfires during the war.

would have been my Dads 90th birthday, 1925- 2006 I didn´t post it because I was in Sheffield and didn´t want to drag the giggles down BUT I did drag the girls that day to Sheffield cathedral where I lit a candle.

So knowing my dad had the humour I have. he will understand but sorry I am late <3 <3 <3 Love you Dad <3 <3 <3
