I got measured once at a specialist bra fitting shop in Darlington. I was told that most women wear bras that are too big in the bra size and too small in cup size.

I went in wearing a 42D and came out wearing a 38FF.

It took a while to get used to the tighter band but once I was used to that the bra was much more comfortable and I could lift up my arms without falling out of the bottom of the bra.

I now get them online from Amplebosom. I've used Bravissimo too. I usually pay around £20 to £25.

EDIT - Autumnleaves - I think most of us have that problem.

Oh thank you ladies, I needed a laugh after the tears I shed watching tonights episode of Long Lost Families. Very touching episode I felt.

As for booby traps, just be glad if you have a matching pair instead of one boob 2 sizes smaller than t'other

Reminds me of a card I bought my (older) sister.
It had an old picture of 2 ladies of 'mature' years on it

First woman:
'I've got furniture disease'

Second woman:
'What's that?'

First woman:
'It's where your chest drops into your drawers'

Underwear ( £16 range) is about the only thing that I buy from M&S but, then again, I'm quite small up top.

My daughter is getting married soon and I have been spending quite a bit of time with her future MIL
A tiny woman with very large b***bs
Every time I meet her, I am fascinated because these bad boys seem to sit/hang/swing, just above her waist
There is clearly a bra in there... somewhere. I can see the shoulder straps

After reading this, I suspect she wears the washed out saggy Doreen range.
:-D :-D

florence i am just a bit smaller. Have always found the Doreen range ok but they are now too washed out to be supportive!

The ones i have selected seem to be similar but M&S own brand and at £16 each are my kind of price bracket.Would have paid more to get the fit but all in all a good buy .

well mine are considerably more but at least I have a size now as a guide line

bought some recently on line as a guestimate but hopelessly didn't fit and the price and postage didnt warrant any returns

What I was wearing wasnt to far out BUT all washed out and stretched wasnt making for a good fit

Think I will stick with M&S for the time being as have wasted money online

Bravissimo is a good place for bras - I'm a 32JJ and they carry that size - in fact they now go up to K

OOh err well needed some new bras ASAP have lost weight and the ones I have really don't surport!!!!
Problems with being a BIG girl is age doesn't help with keeping em in the right place .
Well I went to our local M&S today coz our daughter Karen said they do a bra fitting service and the ladies were so nice and didn't make me feel awkward got measured and then some bras bought to try on and found one that was ideal . It wasn't White my preferred choice but a nice shade of mink and was so comfy .
So bought that one and ordered two more in white
The things us girls have to go through lol
Wish at my age I wasn't a big girl but hey ho it's what I am . Now to get the bat wings sorted and all will be ok. Lol
