Just because your on holiday doesn't mean
you don't have to watch your kids like a hawk

its the parents responsibility to keep their kids safe

sadly some don't :-( :-(

I'm sorry I posted the Daily mail version - it was published in several newspapers AND the BBC news website : :-\

And also a reminder to take anything the Mail publishes with a large heap of salt.

Whatever the truth is this is still a very 'scary story'.

A useful reminder to parents & grandparents at this time of year to keep an eye on the children.

The Bulgarian was in with the Scots wedding group The story started from a Glasgow paper and picked up by the Mail. The story about the abduction doesn't appear to be able to be substantiated at all, it is a Scots group who told their tale to the Glasgow paper. Looks like the stories are attributed to the same group.

This is what is in our newspaper on-line.

I don't know which newspaper first reported this - but I understood that the filming and possible kidnapping were separate incidents.

Dermot. Not so much an old tale. My Mother took me, her new born baby, a walk to the local butchers in my pram, with the dog tagging along. When she arrived back home my Grandmother asked where the baby (and dog) were, she hot footed back to the butchers, and there I was, sleeping soundly. The butcher said they had all been keeping an eye on me (and the dog)

It's the Daily Mail.

Locally reports are - 1 19yr old Bulgarian arrested as parents said he was filming their children. Police have looked at his phone and searched his place and nothing found to say he wanted to abduct or film the children. There were no other people involved, or people dressed as hotel staff or a car crashing near the hotel with someone trying to get away.

Police are upset at the Daily Record and Mail over hyped version of events

You can take your pick who you believe but what I will say is that Cypriot culture is very family/children orientated.

When we were young & being naughty, our parents warned us to be good, otherwise the Gypsies would come & take us away.

Then there was the old tale of the 'fairy children'. A mother asleep beside her baby in the pram outside for fresh air, the baby would be silently whipped away by the fairies & replaced by one of their own.

I can still be naughty at times.

Just spotted this story about Eastern Europeans trying to steal away British children from a holiday hotel:

For once I'm glad that I don't have grandchildren.
