'smug emoticon'.
Only ONCE has one of my cats (now 9) ever 'gone' for a human.
Betty was on the back of a wicker chair, when my (then) 3 year old grandson started pushing it around the room. Betty spat at him. :-0
He stopped, she got off, and strolled into the kitchen :-D
Mind you, when George is very happy, he nibbles, and Mister, who has unretractable claws, occasionally 'rakes' my shoulder - in affection :-0

Mind you, when I was a child (2 ish) we had Korky. Only dad and I could approach him. Korky and I used to sit on the windowsill, I'd squash flies and feed them to him (this was in Malta).
Then we had Mickie. Yet another cat only dad or I could approach - I used to dress her up in dolls clothes and put her in my dolls pram - I still bear the scars. But, I would allow her into my bed to share the hot water bottle (this was in Scotland)
Mickie would walk up to anyone in the house, whether she knew them or not, and, if you were lucky you could stroke her. if not, she'd rake you, or worse, grab your leg/arm and just kick with her back legs, yet Mickie stayed with us for over 10 house moves!!
She moved in with an elderly couple up the road when she was about 16 (my sister, who she was living with at the time, had a baby) The couple said Mickie was the sweetest, gentlest cat ever!! :-S

Friends still talk about her. Occasionally friends would stay in the living room overnight 1970's, I was a teenager. In the morning, Mickie managed to get in. She went around all of them. Some she just sniffed, others she whacked around the face - claws out!!! :-D :-D

Yes Mr M - I'm watching it :-0 :-D ;-)

My cat has certainly had her moments, though she's getting a bit more docile now that she's 17 years old :-D
