Good News.

Had a very nice phonecall earlier today from a B & Q lady,& after giving her some information regarding the transaction she has located the details & has now forwarded a copy of the receipt.

So happy with the outcome,& we will be going along to the store to get an exchange, we can have a refund if we want but will just change it for an "old fashioned" one, lol.

The lady in question was lovely, & dealt with our dilemma very kindly.

trouble is, they are longer than they look, and I am sure the bore diameter is a lot less than a normal hose..........I had one for a while and the water flow IS/WAS much less than a normal hose,
Bob,
make sure that there is no kink or crush on the hose.......and
no, I wouldn't have another.........

Thanks Lyndi,

Did a Google & I have been reading that they have changed their policy!!
No exchanges or refunds without a receipt, been looking for mine & can't find it! I have other receipts but not the one I want.
They will refund if faulty but item must not have been used!!!!!! so how does one know IF something is faulty??

They should be able to track my purchase ( I think!) as I used my Diamond card at the time of purchase but I'm not holding my breath.
Will just have to wait & see what they have to say in response to my email.

I have exchanged things there with no problem :-)

LOL Emma,
We stood ages discussing it when in the store, hubby eventually went with it as he would be the one to use it, he's rather dissappointed today to find its not working as it should!

I thought they were rather "attractive" & they would save us having to heave & coil the old one which gets heavy & untidy!
If we can get it exchanged! we might get one on a reel like Barbra, which should make it easier to deal with.

Anyone know if B & Q will do an exchange without any aggro??

Hi Joan,
I don't like the look of them myself, prefer
the old type, but then again I won't be using it :-D

Hi Emma, It could well be that our water pressure isn't strong enough?? but not absolutely sure especially when previous hosepipe worked ok with the same pressure!
These new ones "might" need more pressure than we have got but there is nothing re instructions to say so!

Hello Barbra & Lyndi........

I have emailed the Xhose website to see what they have to say re pressure needed!
It is supposed to extend / expand on its own!! I understand the filling up of water does that?? but I did actually pull it out to fully extend as nothing had happened & only got the dribble!

Yes the reviews are mixed.
I can see us having to get an exchange (hopefully) for the old fashioned ones, lol

Barbra....Hubby is doing really well thanks.

Joan OH bought one and he likes it fine,
no problem with water pressure etc :-)

Lyndi

Lyndi Report 29 Jun 2015 18:06

I haven't got one but have been looking at them, as well as the normal ones, as I need to buy a new hose.
The reviews are very mixed - this is one: You have to wait till the product is fully extended in order to get the full water pressure. The hose quickly shrinks back and again you have to wait for full water pressure. Great if your only watering small areas otherwise quite annoying.

Maybe you didn't have the hose fully extended :-S I think I will just go for a bog standard one :-D
Hope you get it sorted

...............Does anyone have one of these new fangled hosepipes?
We purchased one recently & I tried to use it today without success! only got a dribble of water coming out at the nozzle end!

We know we don't have a really strong water pressure but previous "normal" types of hosepipes have worked well enough with plenty of water coming through them but this expandable one is NOT even expanding at all!!

There is nothing on the box / instructions or the web site to suggest that a VERY strong water pressure is required!!

Has anyone had this problem?

Joan.
