A few years ago I went to pick up my sisters kids from school. Their teacher wondered who I was. She obviously thought I looked like a right dodgy character.

It's nice to know though that the schools are doing their best to look after them.

It's been going on for a long time!!
Years ago, my daughter's uncle came over from Australia.
He stood at the (primary) school gates, taking a video of his nieces, and was asked to stop by the head - due to concerns about the other childrens' privacy etc etc
This must have been 25 years ago.

I don't think you're allowed to take pictures at school 'productions' any more, but, strangely, can buy CD of the show from the school at a price!!!

Rang our daughter yesterday to arrange what time we are seeing them today.

" I won't be able to ring you back till I have picked up the kids" she said "Mums are not allowed to use mobile phones in the playground because they almost all have cameras on them now!"

What is the problem with taking a photo that might include kids fully dressed, exactly as they will be walking along a public road in a few moments?

Can you imagine a pedophile wandering around taking photos of kids in a school playground not getting spotted by the parents!
