It is the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain

“Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.” Winston S Churchill

Per ardua ad astra

("Through adversity to the stars") is the motto of the Royal Air Force

Remembering the pilots and ground crews who gave their lives in this battle.

Also remembering people like my father working 18 hrs a day at this time helping make the new planes to replace those shot down.

God Bless them all.

It's strange that this year they have celebrated the start of the battle.

Normally the Battle of Britain is celebrated on 15th September

Dear Pat

Hello

I caught some of the coverage on the news.

There are many anniversaries being marked this year,
all connected with World War Two.

Without the young pilots who defended us, this country would have been overrun.

We owe them so much; our freedom, democracy and way of life.

May they rest in peace.

Take gentle care
Sincere wishes
Elizabeth, EOS

God rest "Stuffy" Dowding whose statue stands outside St Clement Danes in the Strand, the RAF church.
