There are other sites beside Just giving who take a smaller percentage.

We were talking about this today as two of my family have just done the London 10k.
I should google all the other sites and choose one that takes the smallest percentage.

It is a very easy way for your sponsers to give money
Good Luck with whatever you decide. :-)

I suspect it depends if you are just raising money among friends but yes, that is good advice, not family though.

If you do do it yourself you might need to have some sort of security to make sure you're not accused of mismanagement or something - some sort of independent person to audit your figures as people can get suspicious of independent fund raisers. Someone on here might know, or you could ask Citizens Advice if there is some sort of backup protocol. Never done it myself! but be careful.

I think people use sites like just giving because it takes the stress out of handling the money yourself. I do think though that with huge amounts they should take less. If you were only going to raise a small amount maybe you could manage to do it yourself.

Just Giving charges a 5% fee which doesn't sound much until you realise that they made over £200,000 from Stephen Sutton although they did "generously" give £50,000 back.

Hi Tinks,

All the ones that I know take a cut of the donations, you might want to bear that in mind.
